Budimir Šobat

24 min 33 s

Longest time holding breath, after breathing pure oxygen

Confirmed Strength and endurance · Verified 2026-10-30 · WWV-PE-003

In March 2021 Croatian freediver Budimir Šobat held his breath underwater for 24 minutes and 33 seconds. He breathed pure oxygen beforehand, a method allowed in this record category.

Without pure oxygen first, the best time is far shorter, around 11 minutes. This is an elite-trained feat and is dangerous to try.
